My “pullet” speckled sussex from the feed store turned out to be a rooster. Figures as it was my favorite chick of the bunch. I can’t have roosters where I live so I need to rehome him but don’t want him going onto someone’s plate or just let loose out into a field to eat bugs until a predator eats him up.
I’m going to put up an ad in the local online classifieds and FB chicken groups and want to weed out inquiries like mentioned above. I figured I‘ll list him for a cheap price (but not free) and mention I’ll only sell to someone looking to add him to their flock.
Any other suggestions to help this handsome guy find a good home? I realize that once I sell him it’s not longer my choice what happens but while he’s in my care I’m still going to try to provide a good life for him to the best of my ability.
