I have an injured pullet I need to keep by herself for awhile but I only have two chickens and they do not like to be separated from each other. Would they get used to it after awhile? How should I do it to cause the least amount of stress for both of them? I'm thinking about putting the crate in the run, so they can see each other, but will she try and get to the other one and hurt herself more? I am also worried about the heat. It's cooling off, but she is panting still and the other one is not.
