Best way to trap and kill a fox?

IME.Live traps never worked for me foxes are to scared to go into something like that.There are a few videos on YouTube of using a live chicken as bait of course blocking the chicken from the fox.I used coil spring traps with a cow bell connected to the chain once it was caught i heard it loud and clear and it was only in pain for a minute until dispatched.

Leg traps may be illegal where they are at. They are also ethically cruel.

yes they may be illegal to set where the OP lives,

however they are not by any means cruel, as some one who traps i can say with out a doubt they are not inhumane. (how ever i live in Canada where we have to use certified humane traps that are approved for each animal) and yes i have been caught and put my hand in foot hold traps and truth be told a rat trap hurts more.


to the OP live traps are tough to use for canines, never heard of any trapping having great success with them. can it be used and done yes, but easy, am not sure.

Ethically cruel is an opinion based on personal experience. You may have a different view than I do and that’s fine.

UPDATE: We bought a HAVAHART trap today. I have a small 10lb dog, who is being potty trained. I let him outside because he was at the door. H ran to the backyard so I sent my sister out to get him. A few minutes later she came in screaming, "The fox is here!" I went to the window to see and there he was, circling my chicken pen! My dad ran outside with a gun. I pounded on the widow and screamed at it (stupid mistake, I know but my puppy was out there growling at it.) The fox ran into the woods after that.
