My geese will not touch pellets, crumbles. They only like scratch. So I feed them lots of greens to supplement their diets in the winter. Their favorites are: a stalk of celery, romaine, parsley, cilantro, and they like whole anise, they have fun playing with it, when it gets down to the bulb part i smash it up a bit with a hammer and put it in their water...they love love this. They also like whole grain breads, endive, any type of greens actually.

Oh and cucumber sliced up and peas put in their water bowl keeps the ducks very happy. My ducks also like nightcrawlers if you can find them at a bait store during the cold season.

was reading your post. I found a goose on the side of the road about 3 months ago. She is doing very well. I free range her and give her lettuce cores twice a day about 1/2 pound each per meal breakfast and dinner. I have tried giving her poultry grains but it gives her diarrhea. it is not moldy or old. I need to know the amount to give her a day. 1/2 a cup? a cup? Would a combination of oats, and wheat be good for her? She is over a year old.
The answer to this question would be very well appreciated
