What are some YouTube channels on overall chicken raising? I’m new to it, raised baby chicks and have them in a coop. But wanting to explore breeding my own

Personally I like : Welcome to Chickenlandia, Chickens in my garden and Once Upon A Farm, they are friendly, have lots of information ( not only specific on breeding) and treat their chickens well... But for the best information this site is gold. Overall I think you can get a lot of different opinions and advice and integrate that with what works for you...

I have watched the The Featherbrain. A lot of the stuff she says makes logical sense and seems to be based on research papers. She also has a very good relationship with her chickens and approaches chicken keeping from a more closer to their natural ecology type of keeping.

I will be watching some of the stuff suggested here as more opinions and sources is always better!

Chickenlandia has some informative videos for sure. I’ve never heard of of the Featherbrain, though after a quick search, she seems knowledgeable. English Country Life have some nice videos, and though not as informative, some older Brimwood farm videos are good as well. One of our members, @Florida Bullfrog had an excellent channel as well, but it’s since been deleted.

I’m not the biggest White House on the Hill fan, plus they don’t seem to be interested in making informative content

The Featherbrain is nice, but honestly, her videos (like some of mine on other topics) tend to be slow and not all that captivating. I did a whole three-minute fat ratio breakdown for parrots on a whiteboard — at least I threw in more jokes to keep it lively.

Chicklandia is an absolute sweetheart, but again, it takes ages to get to the main point, lots of time during every 'episode' with past content and the welcome message.

Once Upon a Farm? I’m just not into celebrity anything. And Chickens in My Garden feels way too basic — like I’m back in kindergarten. But hey, it all comes down to what you’re looking for in a channel.

Do I still watch them? Yep. But I haven’t found one yet that really grabs me; I usually skip around just to catch the good bits. I get it — editing takes time (I have to crank out weekly content myself and honestly neglected editing old material) — but a tighter summary would make a huge difference.

I like having clear reference points — knowing whether someone is a researcher, scientist or more of a lifelong learner. And, frankly, I also make sure they seem mentally stable (I know that sounds harsh, but some people clearly have issues, and their content should be taken with a grain of salt, ill get off my soapbox).
