Also, what size is the tank he’s in? If it’s too small, the issue could also be stress related.

I’m thinking he has a swim bladder issue. Careful with moving him, they can go into shock.

His fins look fine from the picture. They would look shredded. It was just a "just in case" suggestion.I got him quite a few months ago....and he seemed very young and active until now. How do I tell if he has fin rot?
