you can barely see him but if you look at the top of the gate leading into thier yard you can see him sitting there - I might leave the banner up all year LOL

thats my Clyde -he is such a goofy bird !! always keeps me wondering what he is up to next.

I should get that banner for my coop door. I swear....I dont understand it.....but DH and I can go in the coops..and yard, not a problem. But ...ANYONE else goes in there, even WITH me....the roos attack! My 23 year old son was in there with me last week...helping me move nest boxes and perches...when WHAM! Scotch got him from behind....nearly knocking him over. I was laughing so hard...trying to " protect" my son from the " mean old roo" I try to tell them all....just dont ACT afraid....and to throw your arms up, makeing yourself bigger and badder. Doesnt help, now my son wont go back in there to help me....DANG!!

I feel for your son! I haven't been hit yet, but my son and dad and neighbor have and OUCH! I won't go into the "boy's yard" unless it is dark. And I won't even go out back (they free range) without jeans and closed shoes. We've got too many roos and we are slow at culling - I'm not comfortable with it yet - so they rule the yard. We go out armed with broom and never turn our backs on them. The 2 white leghorns are the worst. If they see a back, they attack and man are they quick! It is funny to see ds out back watching them then running helter-skelter inside so as not to get bitten again.

I'm so new to this that I haven't a clue and I'm too scared of them to try hand feeding or anything like that. I did it when they were little every day. I'd sit in the pen and talk to them and hold them and feed them treats. Now I throw corn away from where I need to go and run to take care of any thing.

SAD! I am.

Beth

Oh, thats funny! Beth, I have this image of you ducking and dodging and anyone who comes near getting The Warning about the birds.

What do you think you will end up doing?
