Beyond pissed with mortgage company

I had a friend have the same thing happen with Verizon. He no longer pays by internet. Me? I had such a hard time with Verizons web page I said , screw it and pay by check now.

This is what you get when you hire people who don't understand the English language in the Phillipines or India or China or whereever.

You do know there was recently a "SWITCH BANKS" day? I encourage everyone to switch to a credit union or local bank. The national banks are not people friendly.

Im not sure of all the ins and outs of it but i know my wife here in canada worked for a company based out of here that buys your mortage from other mortgage companies who then pretty much put your interest rate up and down at there will. Who would have ever thought when you were calling about a missed mortgage company you would be calling up north here. I know i was suprised so was she at that start.

When dealing with a mortgage company, especially a big one, keep it simple.

Make no changes to the original terms.
Refinancing...varying additional principal amounts...paying from different accounts...paying by different methods...accepting any type of offers from the company...etc...are all invitations to disaster!

It is absolutely amazing how any simple change in your mortgage will inevitably be messed up by the mortgage company.
And to correct it? Ha ha ha! Good luck dealing with the runaround!

So, if possible, make no changes...Steady as she goes!

I had mine lose a payment. My bank said it was withdrawn, my mortgage account said it was credited, the confirmation e-mail said it was received, but i got a nasty letter saying I was 2 weeks overdue.

Luckily, I got a professional on the phone who was able to fix it quickly and mail me a signed, notorized letter stating that the issue was officially resolved. Turns out the got me mixed up with another person with the same common last name. Sux to be him!

What a pain, I hate dealing with big mortgage companies. Ours is a real peach too.

Good luck to you.

greeneggsandham wrote: The best thing is this is a USDA Rural develpment loan not a typical bank or mortgage broker. I have found they are not that easy to deal with and half the people have no clue what they are talking about. I will have to see who I can contact about this matter since the number I call is located out of St. Louis.

Fed program, good. Sounds like a job for constituent services by Rep/Senators. Get all the paperwork regarding the matter in precise order (did you get the names of who you spoke with? Always get names and positions). Call back and ask supervisor for the exact rule that prevents their correcting this mistake. Let them know you need it as you will be contacting your Representative and Senator's local State Offices (don't bother trying to contact them through Fed. Website as they will usually spit back a form letter two weeks later - gotta love those franking privileges...) regarding this matter. Could call Regional USDA/RD Director but, that's probably one step too many: http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/MAHome.html

Good
hunting!

(if you haven't yet, memorize the names of Rep/and Senators - if you get any blowback, drop the names - first names first...) Lenders in these programs ought to be squeezing their cheeks with a bit more enthusiasm in the current environment.

I make principal payments on the mortgage.Well I did a few weeks ago and only $50 or $100 each time. Your company is insane to think you would be able to give over an entire mortgage payment for principal during the holiday season. What is yours? Ours is around $560.I tell you if it weren't for closing costs(another scam) I would suggest leaving them for another company. I can't wait till our own house is paid for.
