Beyond the Bullseye - Warning: Graphic pictures

I just drank a huge coke so I kinda feel sick anyway... but looking at those first eggs

It is very neat to see the different stages though.

I agree! I can't believe the size of the eyes. I'm going to have to show my kids this post, we incubated some with a homemade incubator and opened all the eggs after the hatch and found some dead at different stages like those, but farther than the 7 day one. It is truly amazing.

I wanted to do this with the eggs I took out of the bator on Wednesday (day 18), but DH wouldn't let me. He said they would be rotten and stinky and explosive so he would throw them over a rock in the back pasture

I really wanted to see if any even started...

thanks for sharing the pics

There was no smell at all; which kinda surprised me actually. I did a little research on embryonic development, and I think the 7 day old may have been just a couple days further along - like Maybe on day 9; and the 14 day old more like around 16 days. It is Really astounding how fast they develop. I never would have suspected the growth would be that fast. If others have photos of embryonic development at different stages I would love to see them.

Thank you for the compliments on the photos - I think there is always something we can learn from things like this.

Those photos are hard to view, but oh so educational. Thank you so much for having the guts, and faith in us to post them.
