While tending my brooder babies this morning, I noticed I had two (maybe more) Wyandotte chicks that had the gold markings as little puffballs and have the gold markings on their wings now that they’re a little bigger, but have a lot of silver presenting on their shoulders and upper wing areas. I was wondering what in the world could cause this?? They’re only a little over four weeks old, and this is the first time raising any kind of Wyandotte, so for all I know this could be normal but I thought I’d see if anyone knew!

So sorry, I tried to upload when I originally posted. Maybe it will work this time!

I was just about to post about this. I got a TSC Wyandotte that I assumed was golden laced based off what the other chick in the bin looked like and the first wing feather but now at 3.5 weeks she just started sprouting silver feather on chest, above her wings and her tail. I’m so confused as what type she is. She was dark as a chick but had small gold/brown spots not what silver laces chicks would look like. Here are some pics from when I first got her up until yesterday with the new growth. Please keep me updated on what you find out about yours.
