I'm looking for any and all information along with picture of their habitat/pen.
.Pen size?
.Community Pen or no.
.Tree or ground nesters
.Raise their own young?
.House dimensions
.Vegetation?
Thank You in advance

Pen size . Biggers better.Although I had success in a 12 x8 pen. Community yes that will work, although best is in a species only pen. Ground nesters. Yes they will raise their own. Yes you can incubate them as well. I like a divided ground box.. tons of cover and bump up the protien before and during breeding season. these ducks lay way later than other ducks. at least thats what ive experienced. I feed mine nutrena16% layer pellets but to bump up protien I give them gamebird maintainence( about 24% or better, Hope this helps

Yes it would work. Put lots of cover all around the boxes. I have had friend have theirs lay in tall grass. However I dont have any live plants or grasses so i use cedar branches and hay scatteredon top

This box is 3 x 2 ft. They seem to like to like this design. i use hay inside. I put a little in the front compart

ment.

Thanks I only have 3 trios now. 4-450 is the going rate(plus shipping) If you get the white faced treeducks they will sometimes lay at 2 years although most time it is 3.And i have had them lay in raised boxes just in piles of cover and ground boxes. All 3.lol. Both baikals and white- faced can be particular in breeding, As in you may go 4- six years before they lay.You just never know.
This is just my experience and others may chime in. Like people all birds are differentas well haha. Good luck with em. In your 10x10 put in a small kiddie pool and keep the water clean .

im picking up the white face tree ducks next Saturday. They are proven birds already. I hope to have Baikal next fall (just starting waterfowl need to build the pens and plant them). Do you sell young? Maybe next fall if you have some I'll purchase a pair of Baikals from you

I always reccomend learning about your birds from the person you purchase them from as well. Because who better to help than who you are getting them from? Especially if youre getting older proven birds, Ask what foods they were fed, what they were kept in and what type nest or box they prefered. This is standard procedure in my book for better success. Also on a side note in the future you should always have your pen set up and gather as much information on the birds you plan on taking care of BEFORE you get them. Even moreso if you plan on keeping a avairy with plants and/or grass in it. Saves you from alot headaches and disapointments. Good luck and send out some pics on here when you get them and have them in their new home. We all love photos
