Bible Reading Thread!

A very important reminder from today's reading
Mar 13:21-23 NET “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe him. 22. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, the elect. 23. Be careful! I have told you everything ahead of time.”

Matthew 24:23-26 kjv
  • Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here [is] Christ, or there; believe [it] not.
  • For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
  • Behold, I have told you before.
  • Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, [he is] in the secret chambers; believe [it] not.

What are ya’ll doing to prepare for Holy Week and Easter this year? I am planning to make little “boxes” for each day of Holy Week with symbols and scriptures and pictures and toys that can help to teach my kids about what happened on that day. I am feeling a real need to emphasize Holy Week this year. The past few years I have been weaning off of “worldly” celebration of holidays - if it was my choice I wouldn’t see any Easter eggs or bunnies this year (but you know how grandparents are 😩) But I am going to try to be more active in how I teach my kids this year. I am also hoping to rewatch the whole series of The Chosen. Would love to hear your suggestions as well. This perhaps should have been its own thread? But I just figured that many of the like-minded religious folks are already here on this thread!

Also, I watched the most beautiful video today about Jesus Christ’s atonement, death and resurrection and why he did it. It is only 4 mins long, I highly recommend it. Brought me to tears. And my young daughter watched it on repeat with me several times and I was able to tell her what was happening. Just really beautiful. I plan to share it with my friends and family this Easter season 💕 Here is the link:

Hope you are all having a beautiful Sabbath.

We don't celebrate easter. We celebrate LORD JESUS resurrection every day! It is very very very important to us! Our children learn about His resurrection from the womb! The only time I see easter mentioned in the Bible Herod was doing it
  • Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth [his] hands to vex certain of the church.
  • And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
  • And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
  • And when he had apprehended him, he put [him] in prison, and delivered [him] to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
  • Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
Acts 12:1-5 kjv
We gave up traditions of easter, before we had children.

That is so wonderful, I wish I had not grown up celebrating all of the secular holidays. Your children are very blessed. The secular holiday traditions have zero appeal to me now. Do you have any traditions that you do during Holy Week and Passover, or do you treat them the same as every day?

We treat them as the same always celebrating and rejoicing in LORD JESUS resurrection!! Without it how lost I would be! By His precious blood am I saved!!
