Big Black Scab

I have “saddles” on all my females because the rooster are scratching up their backs and one fell off so I went to put it back on today and under her left wing there is this big hard like hole. She seems very sensitive around it to? What could this be??

I would try doing warm compresses on it to soften the scab and then see what's under it in case it's an abscess. Then clean really good, and lather with antibiotic cream. You may want to keep her separate in a dog crate while you're treating it so the other hens don't peck it bloody.

Thank you I will definitely try that. Do you have any reccommendations for the antibiotic cream? I have neosporin that i use now. Should I use that or do you recommend something else?

Neosporin is perfect. Just make sure there's no pain reliever in it since that can be toxic to some animals.
