So we just picked up some more chicks today to replace one that we lost. Got 4 Easter Eggers and one of them, the dark west one is viscous. She is constantly going after the other chicks eyes. Any ideas on how to handle this? New to chickens and haven’t seen this before but the last batch we got was a little over a week when we got them and these ones are real fresh.

We have also been dealing with a dark brown EE bully. River, our bully, was pulling the other chicks around by their toes until they bled. From advice here on BYC, we built a cage out of hardware cloth to separate her from the others, but still be in the brooder with them. We started with a couple of 8 to 10 hour time outs and only a few minutes with the others. This morning she was able to socialize 20 to 30 minutes at a time alternating with 30 min. in the cage when she started pulling toes. This evening she has been with the others for almost 6 hours constantly and is only toe pecking instead of toe pulling. We also added a 2"x4" clump of dirt and grass to the brooder which helped a lot.

Thank you both for the quick responses. We have her in a separate area of the brooder box now and we will start trying to reintroduce in the morning with some supervised visitors.
