One of my turkeys, a blue slate, decided to nest in the woods. She had about 16 eggs and was setting on them very religiously. Came home from work and she was with the others, so I knew something was up. Checked out her nest, and sure enough, something had gotten to her eggs. Luckily she is unhurt.

So, here is my question. Will she come back into lay? She was a steady egg per day girl.

Off to build a few separate turkey brooding pens so this won't happen again.

Live and learn.

The good thing is that I have12 eggs of hers in the incubator, and 4 have pipped!

Looks like I got my answer this weekend. She found another nest site and I found her setting on three eggs on Saturday. Got another egg yesterday, so it looks like she is laying again.

Looks like it took her two weeks to get things going again. Nothing in the traps. The last of the eggs I had collected from her before are hatching right now.
