Big dark spot in air cell. Has this embryo died?

Incubating chicken eggs.
It is day 22. Most of the chicks hatched yesterday. But I haven’t seen any action from this guy, yet.
Notice the weird dark patch in the air cell. Also the dark, detached looking spots inside.
Has this embryo died?

Since I am now addicted to hatching, I will be doing lots of this in the future. What was the give away?

After 22 days it will be a fully formed chick.
I am addicted to it also, my wife made me quit until after the holidays, I’m getting about 40 quail eggs/day and it’s killing me not to fill my incubators up.

I love quail! I want some Sooooo bad. But my parents said that I can only add one species per year….

40 eggs a day??!! That must be so hard!! Do they taste good?

Very good.
The meat is excellent, the eggs are good scrambled or boiled, I pickled 6 pts

No I don’t have any button quail.
I don’t need any more pets, and from what I’m told, that’s the only thing that they are good for.
If there was a market for them, I might try raising them, but for now I’m not.
