Big Feeder

Sounds like a really nice setup. I have a couple of years until I can retire and move further out and onto some acreage. of course, when that happens, I won't need anyone to take care of things Because I never plan to go anywhere!
I can't deny that myself. I am content with what we have and I don't need to go any where. But my wife likes to travel and I am ok with that but it is not a priority. Now I am in trouble and I probably won't hear the end of this statement. Please be nice

I like your "over kill" large feeder. My only concern is mold and mildew ruining your feed and making your chickens sick in the process. As you know, feed does goes bad like any other grain.
Your girls are laying double yokers also known as "Fairy" eggs. Enjoy it while it lasts. Your girls are new to laying hence the reason for the double egg yokes. That will settle down with egg laying practice.
Congrats and watch the feed routinely. Do want until your birds are sick.

Thank you for your input. I never thought about the feed going bad because they ate it too fast. I am going to watch the feed a little closer. It's not like the old days.

I get it. If it were not for my wife I would be a serious hermit, way off grid and nowhere near people. She is willing to go very rural but needs to be able to shop and wants things like electricity and indoor plumbing. I do have to admit that she has point though, as I get older I am not sure I would actually still be able to rough it like I used to. Good thing we have wives with better sense to keep us grounded!

I just made this to stop my chickens from wasting food and bullying others away. Don’t know if it will work and I still need to protect it from the rain but I’m hoping this idea will work out. I have 30 chickens as of now. The corners are blocked so no hidden food.
