Big Girl is limping! Help me, please!

I wouldn't worry about it too much, just keep an eye on it like everyone said. I had a hen who was fine, and then a couple hours later she started limping, in the morning she was back to normal again. My best guess is she jumped off the roost and landed wrong. Do you have a rooster? My one hen started limping an awful lot here and there, and over the course of 1 year, she ended up growing small spurs on 1 leg and then eventually the other. She was usually fine but would limp when they grew more one day, like growing pains I guess. If she kinda moves the leg weird, you can keep her on the ground or roost to try not to stress her anymore, but you can feel her hock, and leg, to compare heat between them. When there's more heat in one place, it could imply an injury but I think she'll be fine.
Good luck!

my barred rock charlotte, was coming out of the nesting box and tripped over the perch and fell to the ground...when i went to pick her up and put her down she couldnt stand on that leg.....i put her in a box with lots of straw and put it in a large dog cage, with food and water......the other girls could go visit her and keep her compant, long story short, took to vet and $1500.00 for surgery....well i opted out of that, took her home, kept her isolated for a few weeks...leg stayed warm to the touch, no bruising, no swelling....well today she has a bit of a limp and runs as fast as any other chicken in the flock...i think your little girl just needs rest and keep an eye on her,,,,after a week or two i would let her out and get some excercise , but put her back in the cage at nite, afaid if i put her on the roost she may fall or lose her balance, but one day i couldnt find her after letting her out and wa la, she was up on the roost...my charlotte is a trooper and i hope the same goes for your little girl

She may have sprained it. I would watch her, and if she is limping tomorrow, just limit her activity in a crate with food and water, but kept near the other chickens.
X2 I would just watch her for a few days. Limit activity as needed, but keep her near the others.

Sadly, she is still limping. I checked her over again, and noticed she didn't flinch when her joint was handled, but fussed when her foot was felt around on. Still, no lumps, no bruising. I'll be keeping them in the house today.

Double check the toenails.
See if one is cracked.

Now I don't know what to do. My mom was holding her and was gently putting her down when Big Girl scrambled out of her arms and landed with a plop. Now she's limping worse all because she had to be stupid. Now what?! This would have to happen! How can I re-home them now, I can't give away a limping chicken! :hit

Put her back with the flock and leave her be.
