Hi everyone, I'm back here asking for your help.

I had to stay away from my chickens for a while and today I noticed a large lump under my Silkie's beak. The photo isn’t very clear because of her feathers and because she had just finished pecking at the ground.

The lump is hard, about 2 cm in diameter, and seems to start just below her wattle. I didn't notice nothing strange inside the mouth. I have no idea what it could be—can you help me? And most importantly, do you know how to treat it?

She seems a bit sadder than usual, and I’ve noticed she has some trouble swallowing (though not enough to stop her from eating). I also saw that her droppings are small, soft, and light green. I'm in a place where it is very difficult to find an avian vet so i wanted to have an help from you if possibile. Thank you so much❤️

What does she normally eat? How long has she had it? I've seen vets treat this by removal, but it is a delicate procedure. This list may help you find a vet to treat her: https://www.aav.org/search/
thank you so much for your reply, she normally eats organic chicken feeding and vegetables waste given daily.
I really don't know when she started to have this issue because i haven't seen her in a month, and it is difficult to spot only by the sight (i felt it because i was playing with her this morning)..

Does she have any drainage from her eyes or beak and nostrils? Have you taken a light and looked into her beak for any yellow canker or lesions? She looks a bit messy, so I would clean her up. This could possibly be a tumor, so I would make sure that she is eating enough. Let us know how she is getting along.

Hey no, she has not drainage. And i didnt see any lesions inside the beak. And yes of course i'm going to clean her.. how can i treat the tumor or the abscess if she has it? And how can i confirm that it is a tumour?

Do you see any scab or cut on the area? I do not cut or lance things like that, but prefer to let it be. If you did, and got yellow cheese like material out, it could be an abscess. If however, you got just blood, it is more likely to be a tumor. A tumor or cyst would continue to grow.

I will check tomorrow if i can see some cuts...
I would prefer to not cut or lance it cause I fear it could get worse if it gets more infected... if it was a cyst there is something i can do to reduce it or stop the growth?

I would watch it for awhile. The missing feathers may make it more prominent now, but try to see if it grows. With chickens and growths, there is not a lot we can do about them. Some viruses can cause tumors, and some tumors may just be that, nit associated with a virus or illness. Do let us know how she gets along.

Hey guys, update on my chicken.
Today she seems even sadder and isn’t eating (I tried making her a mash with semolina and egg yolk, but she hasn’t touched it so far). I’m pretty worried.
Also, I just noticed there are actually two lumps: one positioned vertically under her beak and another one on the side, under her wattle. Both are about 1.5 cm in diameter.
Could an antibiotic help? If so, which one and in what dosage?

Thanks in advance!

When looking inside her mouth, can you see her tongue at all?

The ball like swelling underneath a chickens' wattles is often related to their tongue being swallowed or restricted by a thread or hair wrapped around it, which leaves them very uncomfortable and with difficulty to eat or drink properly.

How old is she?
