Hello everyone. My two month old polish chicken, Phyllis, has a nickel sized bald spot on the back of her head. No open cuts or blood. It’s not new, but I’ve been looking all over to find out what I can do about it. I believe that it’s from other chickens pecking her (as I’ve heard is common for Polish chickens). I’ve never seen another chicken peck her, so I’m not sure who I could separate or anything. I’m not really sure what to do. Any tips would be helpful! I really love her, and I don’t want anything bad to happen to her.

Polish and Silkies--other featherheaded breeds usually suffer in mixed flocks. Looks like this bird is being rejected and feathers pulled. Feathers will regrow, if not continually pulled out by other birds.

I’m hoping that it stops, but if not I’ll have to find some other way to help prevent it.
