Big run and coop build

I finally got some days off and started the siding. I had 14 sheets of T1-11 siding but returned it and got Hardie sheets instead simce it is an overall superior product and the same price. I am still not sure what I will do for windows. I want at least four windows and want them to be rain proof, predator proof and still be able to shut them in the winter. I am looking at Carolina Coop’s sliding Lexan windows with poly tracks that slide from the inside of the coop. I can cut and frame after the fact, I just wanted to get this thing dryed in before it starts raining again. I decided to delete the second door and just put a window on the opposite end.

This is a shaded area that stays out of direct sun. I’m running hardware cloth the full length across the bottom wall below the nest boxes with hinged plywood inside to shut in winter. The top of walls is open about 3” so there will be plenty of ventilation. I am installing hardware cloth for soffit to keep critters out.

One mores side to install siding then frame door and get nest boxes done. Hardware cloth below nest boxes for ventilation. I’m building fold down plywood inside to cover in winter. Nest boxes with have metal roof and rear hatches for nest access 5 at a time 15 total boxes. The window is tinted 1/4” Lexan for hurricane protection...haha

That is amazing! Looks great! What kind of roofing material did you use?

Tomorrow I will finish the nest boxes, door and trim. Hopefully have it caulked and painted by the weekend and get the BlackJack RubrCoat on the floor and tie the run into the coop. We will see how far I get!
