Big run and coop build

The perimeter frame is 2x8” not 2x4”.
I plan on anchoring it down to keep it in place. We don’t get hurricanes that often, I’m 60 miles from the coast.
It is very cool inside even on hundred degree days.

Just trying to offer constructive criticism and offer some things to consider. I do not build my coops as pretty as you do I just do the form and function bit. Even 60 miles inland sitting in an eyewall for 24+ hours is no fun and you just hope you planned it out right. I am 20 miles inland myself and was very glad that every time I looked in on the coops I had no other issue than the roofing. I was really surprised I didn't have to get the chainsaw after that storm rolled through.

Constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated. I’ve lived here for almost 40 years and rode out some nasty ones. Harvey blew over 120mph sustained for 6-8 hours here.
I will anchor it down and the limbs will just do what they do. Hopefully they won’t tear it up too badly. The shade they throw is nice!

I got the first coat of RubrCoat57 down yesterday and got the lower louvers painted and mounted today. 3/4” treated plywood with Hardi sheet over them. They are nice and solid! Tomorrow I will get the nest box access panels painted and get the second coat of RubrCoat57 down and paint the walls 16” up and then install the hardware cloth inside where the louvers are. My goal is to have the hens in by Monday but we will see.
I will add photos of the lower louvers tomorrow. They turned out very nice. I will leave them open unless it gets really cold or a strong hurricane is blowing through.

I still have to remove the nest box doors and paint them and trim and paint the rest of the coop but I can do that after I get the inside done. She’s coming along!

Today I masked off and coated the studs and inside walls 16” up. Tomorrow I will paint the insides of the lower louvers and outside of nest box doors.
