So I am new to chickens and I ordered 15 chicks from Cackle. They were supposed to ship out 3/31. I went into my local Post office and informed them that I was going to be receiving a box of live fuzzy baby chicks sometime in the next couple of days and I wanted them to call me not deliver them. They ASSURED me that they would call as soon as they received them. The post guy even asked if I wanted them to call me at 5:30 am when the shipment arrived or wait until a more decent hour. I said I wanted a call as soon as they were off the truck! I want my babies and they are hungry! Anyways Thursday morning rolls around, then Friday morning THEN Saturday morning! Still no call. With Sunday being Easter I assumed even if they were in shipment somewhere I probably wouldn't get them. Early Monday morning I called the hatchery hoping that they were not sitting in some box somewhere starving. The line was busy the first 7 times I called but I finally got through. When I did they asked for my name then put me on hold... for what seemed like forever. When they finally came back they said they couldnt find my order and would have to call me back.

I was freaking out to say the least. Finally I called them back and was put on hold again... This time they found my invoice AND my shipment of babies. Somehow they misplaced my invoice and it was pushed to the back of the line and they didnt ship them out till Monday!

YAY!!! They didn't turn up this morning so I am playing the waiting game again. At least they have more days to get here before the weekend. I think it would have been noce for the hatchery to send out a email notification when they ship the chicks but overall I think Cackle did a good job. They are so nice and professional on the phone. They said they even shipped me an extra LB and they even marked them for me. I can't wait for my little babies! As soon as they get here I will post lots of proud mamma pictures

I ordered 5 Light brahmas, 5 speckled sussex and 5 Salmon faverolles. On another note if anybody knows where I can find some SQ Salmnon Favs in the Oregon area I would be greatly appreciative!

What a big relief!!! Hope they have a safe and healthy trip!

I always thought hatcheries would send out an email when your order is actually shipped. I ordered my chicks from McMurray and never got an email confirmation of their shipping date. I just assumed everything was still on schedule and crossed my fingers. You'd think they would send something out?!?!?

Anways.... GOOD LUCK and have fun with all your new babies when they arrive. Definitely post some pics of your fuzzy butts so we can all get our chick fix
