Biggest Egg Yet !

WOW!! OUCH!! poor girl laying an egg everyday probably isnt bery comfortable but then she lays that thing!!

Bear in mind, that is a jumbo carton. I don't photograph them all, by any means, but here's one. Cannot box them, thus cannot sell them. I either give them away or we eat them.​

I had one that big when my girls first started laying last month...it ended up being one of the rare..."Egg in an egg"!!! Should have seen our faces when we looked in the pan after cracking the egg!

Is your hen walking funny now? I bet she's afraid to lay another one, I know I'd be! That is one incredible egg! Very curious as to what's inside...( Jimmy Hoffa could be in that thing!)

well, if i did this right, there should be 3 pictures posted here.
a pic of the "big egg" in a carton next to "regular" sized eggs, a pic of the big one in an adult hand (for scale)
and a pic of the bad boy in the pan.
turned out it was a double yolker, but instead of the usual double yolker that has 2 smaller yolks, this egg had 2 BIG yolks.
i was hopeing for a triple, or an "egg in an egg", but settled for 2 darn tastey eggs in one shell. yum!

I have four girls laying now, and their eggs are all very small, averaging less than one and a half ounces, even after more than a month of laying. The smallest one was less than an ounce! It was almost all yolk. They are still yummy though! I guess I'm glad they are not jumbo.

Holy Smokes!! Those are some BIG eggs. I always feel bad for the hen when I see them too. I was flying to my parents place in another state and couldn't help it, I took her some eggs. (it perplexed the security people but they let me through lol). I was sitting on the plane and just had to open my backpack to make sure they made it through everything OK. I happened to be sitting by a doctor who was enthralled with the eggs (lots of colors). I had included what turned out to be a double yolker from a BO. He took one look at that egg and said "That chicken had to have had an episiotomy to get that thing out!" Those ones are now called "Episiotomy Eggs".

HOLY MOLY!!

My largest egg was a double yolker weighing in at 96.8 grams. Almost as big as yours
