Bill Clinton ....Father of the What????

It is pretty obvius that this award will never go to the father who was actually the best father of the year. And it do not even say so. Clinton is father of the year because he is a father, because people know him and because ... yes it is very much about politics. You read up a bit:

"The 42nd president is being honored for his work through the William J. Clinton Foundation "to improve global health, promote healthier childhoods and protect the environment" and for bringing "global leaders together to work on the most pressing issues," according to the committee's statement."

So if you do all this you can beat your kids and get a father of the year award.
Seems like they picked who they wanted and then came up with reasons to pick him. Now if they wanted to name him one of the better Presidents then he would have my vote. Or even humanitarian of the year. But name someone else father of the year.

Look at the other who got this award. Where they the very best, most loving and giving father that year? You misunderstand the concept. They are creating awereness and raising money for good things. So is Clinton.

If you want to discuss this issue with me you're going to have to stop the hyperbole nonsense. Lets try and be reasonable here. I think you guys search for reasons to be upset and complain. When Rush Limbaugh was named "the most trusted man in radio" I didn't let that ruin my day. Like most reasonable people I laughed it off. If you don't agree with the magazine, fine, but is it really worth getting so angry over?

My day would never be ruined by him or you. Not at the least bit angry either so don't pretend to know how I feel. I am just appalled by the hypocrisy of it. You failed to address how he has treated women over the course of his life but obviously you are OK with that, your choice. Could care less about Rush as well. All of this just shows how standards in this country not only swirled around the bowl but have gone down the drain.

Ok... he is not getting father of the year for being a dedicated father people. He's is getting it for the examples he has set forth in the last year. Read the article. There is NOTHING political about it. This has nothing to do with his endevours in the ladies department. If we are going to compare him and why he shouldn't get it, then you may as well compare why JFK is god-like to so many when he was just as bad in the ladies department. No one trashes on him about that. I don't think we can trash on Clinton for being a womanizer. It is a two way street. Period. Lets not get the thread locked by getting petty and arguing. You like the guy, you don't like the guy... lets not have a peeing contest over it.

BUT his award has nothing to do with that. A father of the year award... Sheesh... Well it should be about being a FATHER of the year... Not a philanthropist of the year, or a philanderer of the year... That should be the name of the award for him. LOL

Not just JFK but the whole string Kennedy's treated women badly. I live in the birthing ground of them. But their antics is another thread. Like you said he has done some great work but nothing to do with being father of the year or a father at all. If it was named in a horse of a different color we wouldn't be having this discussion. I guess if Jerry Sandusky was named Mentor of the Year a few people would here be OK with that too, don't know. All because he was a good coach.
