I know Kathy therefore I know she wasn't trying to be hateful with the Google response.
It's probably going to be different for the type of laptop you are using. So it would probably be faster to find out what you need to know if you googled how to do it on your specific laptop.

To take a screenshot on a laptop, (or at least this works on my macbook), push the "shift", "command", and 3, buttons simultaneously. Hold them in until the screenshot appears in the lower right corner.
