Bio-security and chickens fostering chicks

What is the bio-security protocol for bringing home a chick for a broody silkie to raise? The chick would be from the same farm we got the original chickens from earlier this year.

Most likely not a problem because they came from the same source. However, protocol is to quarantine new birds for 40 days as far from your other birds as possible. Your call.

That's what so confusing to me. How other people are sticking chicks under broody hens without any quarantine.
