Bio security and selling chickens

I'm selling a few pullets to make room for chicks in the bator. Is it wrong for me to not let potential buyers to come to my house due to my bio security rules? I don't vaccinate my chickens and really don't want to administer antibiotics because someone brought a sickness to my house that was just lookin for a field trip and wasn't planning on buying anyway.

Just don't let them roam your property. Bring the birds up to the drive. Some people that come may not even have birds so they should be OK.

Ditto what CC said. I would not buy a bird from you if I could not SEE your property. And I would not buy a bird unless I could handle it. Bringing the bird to the end of the driveway is a good compromise. I do let people see my chicken set up, but I don't let them go in my chicken space. I figure that there's plenty of pathogens entering my yard from wild critters, so, the occasional foot traffic, while a risk, is no more risky than my own feet after coming back from the feed store!

My property is my chickens space. They free range for most of the day and there is not one square inch that they don't peck at. I sell on a small Facebook page and there are plenty of pictures that I have posted to understand how my chickens are raised.

Absolutely. Have I thought of that? yes. Have I done that? No, simply b/c I found it to be too much bother. I remember that my Dad used to do that when he raised sheep. Probably most often during lambing season. The memory brings back the smell of the solution he used. I don't know what it was, but it had a sweet smell, and turned the water milky white. ? pine sol??

I have so many wild birds on my property that bio security on my land is more of a desire than a reality, so..... I let the three buyers on my place and had no problems. I do like the idea of a boot bath, we have a shallow snow catcher by the front door in the winter that would work for an inch of disinfectant that they can use as they come and go. The buyers would probably like to have the boot bath as they leave my place.

my biggest problem with the "boot bath" is i wanted it outside where it would do some good, but the chickens thought it was their personal drinking hole.

Our local chicken group does coop tours all over town, anywhere from 2 to 10 on any given day.
Many have spray bottles, pans of solution and scrub brushes at the entrance to their yards.
I have boxes of disposable plastic booties which I used to make everyone wear. I became NPIP this year so no more coop tours here.
