I don't really feel equipped to comment on your paper as I'm no expert, I just wanted to add a bit of trivia. In Norway there's a breed called "Norwegian Jærhøns" ("Jaerhons"/"Jaerhone") which is a result of massive inbreeding to the extent that they all originate from one hen, one rooster in the early 1900s. There is a gene bank where the breed is kept "safe" from incrossing, as well as a number of dedicated breeders. I do not have any myself, but they are not known to have any particular breed problems, though as other great layers they don't tend to go broody.
