We may be selected to be part of the chicken coop tour in our city this year, and since visitors will be coming from other chicken yards I thought it would be a good idea to have a biosecurity foot bath to hinder the possible spread of germs in and out of our yard.

Do you use a disinfectant foot bath, and if so, how do you set it up? What materials do you use?

I make folks spray their shoes with an Oxine solution, but the foot bath is something I've wanted to do. I just have no covered area where I can leave out a foot bath. Disposable foot covers would be the best way to go because you can see who isn't wearing them; can't see who hasn't stepped in a foot bath.

I would like to know how to implement a foot bath also. I'm just trying to be more careful. Don't really have people from other chicken properties coming in, but there are wild birds around, and sometimes the place gets a bit muddy (am moving the coop to higher ground . . .).

The UC Davis link was broken. Anyone have a good reference?
