It is much more accurate than the other one, and if you know your birds' genotypes, you'll get better results.
Keep in mind the only difference between silver pencilling and birchen is that pencilled birds have Db/Db (or ginger) and Pg/Pg (or lacing). Therefore, you get incomplete pencilling, which means the markings will taper off near the tail of the bird. This is a result of the two genes for pencilling being Pg/pg and Db/db instead of the homozygous versions.
