Oh thank you two so much for the response! I was doubting it too because of the legs. They look like my Americauna legs! I am really liking the photos of all of your Marans. They are so pretty.

If your Ameraucanas legs look like that.... they are not Ameraucanas.... they are probably Easter Eggers. That was really my first thought when I saw her she might be an EE cross.

Hmmm Meyers sold her to me as an Americauna. She has olive colored legs

She never got a beard or muff

you can't get real Ameraucanas from a hatchery.

gotcha. what ever she is, I love her. She's a good girl with pretty teal colored eggs.

She is an Easter Egger. Lucky you... usually with a straight comb they don't get the blue egg genes. She may have been an Olive Egger cross and didn't get the right egg genes.

You can, but PURE BLUES are VERY VERY VERY hard to find. Even if they don't show color they are probably no pure blues. You would find out quick with the cross as the copper would show on the birchen birds.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I don't know how else to get blue birchen though. I haven't found anyone selling blue birchen eggs. The only blue birchen roo I hatched last year has a sprig in his comb. :-/
