You buy them books, send them to school and they still want to lay their eggs on the floor in the back corner. They didn't read the chapter lay in a dark secure nesting box. What shall I do? I know, lay 'em where you want, just so you lay 'em!

They're in the nesting boxes, well 2 are, the 3rd box somebody kicked it to the floor.

I personally pick up the birds, & put them in the nesting box with dummy eggs. I repeat as many times as possible. They will catch on at some point.
But the best teachers, are hens that are already using the nesting boxes.

I know of this I just can't be bothered. They're laying clean eggs in a clean area so that's OK with me. The only thing I'm going to do is take the boxes off the cinder blocks and drop them to the floor. Have 8 hens and 3 boxes 14x14x14. I may give them a 14x14 tray to lay in.
