So 3 weeks or so ago I found a double yolk egg and thought it was a bird egg :/
...... but this time it's different!! I was walking around when I found a random bird egg. Its smaller than all my eggs, and none of me hens even lay that color. It also was laid overnight or really early in the morning, because it was not there yesterday. I saw it around 9 am, and I just let the chickens out not even an hour before that. I live in upper michigan and its breeding season atm here. I'll post pictures

It looks like a turkey egg. You should probably put it back.

We havent seen turkeys since like a month ago, and even if it was a turkey, would it have laid the egg so close to my house/chickens. The egg was literally like 10 feet away from my front door.

Idk. Your sure it isn't a chicken? Pheasant maybe? Do you have any guineas?

I have no pheasants or guineas, just large layer hens. They are all three years old and have never laid an egg like that.

Do you know of any other large birds it could've been? I thought owl for a second.
It looks very much like a turkey or guinea egg to me. I think it's a turkey. Sometimes they just "drop" eggs. Especially new layers. If it were me I'd probably just throw it out. It's illegal to be in posession of them. The hen probably was looking for somewhere to lay it, and saw your chickens and wanted to lay it by them. Thats my guess.

Okay, thanks!
