Do I need to be worried about bird flu if I bought hatching eggs through the mail? I am strict about bio security, but didn't hear about the current outbreak when I ordered (we don't watch tv).

They are from MyPetChicken. Shipping label says Connecticut. Thinking about tossing them instead of putting them under my broody as planned.

I thought you were getting them from a private seller. Those are the ones I would be concerned about.

So you wouldn't be concerned about these? I assume they source them from small farms

Call their customer service and ask if they are npip certified or do any testing for AI
I believe you can also cross check to see if they have recently failed.

Will do. I wouldn't think it'd be an issue as they are on the east coast and all. Just wondered if it's something I should be concerned about.

Talked with them and feel totally fine about using the eggs :)
