I'm receiving a few chicks from MO and wonder how many days do I have to quarantine them from the others?

A general rule for new birds is 1 month before introducing to rest of flock. But there's alot of other things to take into consideration, like previous homes isolation from other flocks, vaccinations etc.

Okay, I'll keep that in mind.

Since they're day old chicks, are you keeping them in an inside brooder or hoping to put them with an existing flock immediately? *I* wouldn't be afraid of day old chicks being shipped to me, infecting my existing flock with h5n1. Avian Influenza kill chickens quickly so the hatchery would be aware if the farms that owned the parent stock had confirmed cases of H5N1, before the chicks hatched.

I actually planned on quarantining them for a few days in a separate brooder.
