One flock of 500 chickens has tested positive and been disposed of. The farm is going to be under quarantine for 8 months. Avian flu is nothing to mess with
No but you can carry it home to your flock. Bio security is something we do when we go to poultry shows or anywhere where there are poultry or if someone comes to our home who has poultry.They are saying to keep your flock away from wild ducks and where they have been. And if you handle wild ducks use gloves,wash everything and cook meat well.Not sure why they say that though since it is not apparently a threat to humans.
I believe the flock was in Washington state, but I am not sure.

Sure is scary. I did hear there was a province in Canada that had an out break.
