Bird nest!

Today as i walked inside my house, i noticed a brown bird fly in a hurry. Found a nest on our christmas decoration. We also have another nest in our shed.

There is mom bird who flew to that near by tree.

I can't tell from the pic what bird this might be. But watching wild birds nest is quite fun and entertaining! Especially when they feed the babies and eventually they fledge the nest! I have several BlueBird houses around the property and I really enjoy giving them a place to nest.

I too am unable to ID the bird from that picture. Up here the birds haven't begun to think about nesting.

you would really need to use a long telephoto lens to make out that bird at such a distance.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! At least the bird thinks spring is here. Cornell has a nice online bird id that uses shapes etc if you want to try and match them up. http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/browse

They are house finches. I found a picture online.

I was thinking House Finches when you said little brown birds. But you said they had long beaks. And house finches have stubby thicker rounder beaks. LOL Finch beaks. This is the time of year House Finches start nesting!

LOL! I ment that in my shed there is also a bird nest, but they are smaller and have long beaks. Sorry about the confusion.
