bird netting over run

I am considering using bird netting over the top of my chicken run but am worried small birds will get stuck in it. Has anyone had this type of trouble?

I've had the netting up for years and the small birds fly right thru. Doves will get confused and try and fly thru it and bounce off, but usually get out thru my woven wire fence. I have never had a bird get stuck in the netting.

I turned my vege patch into a sickbay. It's about 6m x 3m , it already had chicken wire up to waist height, so we nailed plastic water pipe to the treated pine uprights in an arch, 4 in total.
This gave the netting support. Works really well. Sorry I don't have any pics and it is absolutely bucketing down outside. Oh , we are surrounded by cherry orchards, so it's easy to get your hands on their excess netting. It's strong and white, so the wild birds have no trouble seeing it.

I use plain old chicken wire for my small run. Its only 9 feet by 5 feet though. Chicken math caught up with me now though and I am now forced to expand my outside run to accomodate more chickens then I had origonally planned on. I'm not too conserned about raccoons or other ground predators where I live so I'm just going to go with some hardware string (10lb tension) and run strands back and forth over the top about 4 inches apart, this "in theory" will keep birds of prey from being able to dive in, without having to drop a bunch of cash into a chicken wire roof.
