Bird of Prey Experts Needed

I will defer to the expert. That second bird will force me to expand the concept of what is a Red-tailed Hawk. In other types of critters I am an expert on, further scrutiny would be warranted.

Here is the picture of a red tail hawk. This is a good example of how an adult red tail got its name.

Below is the smaller Coopers hawk.

Both red tail & Cooper's hawks are "Chicken hawks"

I think that the upper bird is a Cooper's hawk and the lighting angle or time of day makes the bottom picture look indecisive. If it is a red tail it is an adolescent one.
