Bird people of BackYard Chickens, (who am I kidding, that's everyone here) what has your bird, or birds, done that has made you chuckle? Was is something amazing or just a test of stupidity?

I guess I'll go. So I am the proud owner of two big white cockerels. They haven't seen a chicken in at least three months, so they are kind of, well, desperate for a lady. So, Rooster #1 is the boss, and is just a brave boy. Rooster #2 is very passive and shy, and really has a "so what" attitude. Rooster #1 decides to practice what will happen when I get hens on his pal. By that I mean MOUNTING his buddy. Rooster #2 is not having it and squirms away. I was watching it and giggling. Silly birds!

I'm distracted because I'm locking the door of my quail pen so I forget that the chickens are free ranging and Raven comes out of nowhere and goes straight for the quail eggs in my hand. Raven bit my hand and made me drop the quail eggs. Then every chicken ran over and had a feast.

Nice. I think your chickens are plotting against you!

Once I was upstairs spending some quality time petting my dog. Suddenly, He bolted upright, and ran downstairs. Then I heard panicked clucking. A small child in my house had left the back door open while my chickens were free ranging, and Poca, the brave one, had entered my house through the laundry room and was walking around in my kitchen. Surprise!
p.s. the dog chased her out, but she was fine. he's not aggressive just super friendly.😅

Poca is definitely a brave chicken!

No one story, I just get as much entertainment watching them interact while sitting on my front porch as I do watching TV. Maybe that's what is funny- although I'm a member of Back Yard Chickens mine are actually in my front yard!

So I have an easter egger pullet that I named Darlene who has demonstrated multiple times how smart she is. It would take forever to tell you every story so I'll just tell you the best one. I watched her fly on top of my large bantam cochin cage. Then she flew from there on top of her own cage. She flew from her own cage on top of an empty dog crate. From there she flew on top of the pens where the adult chickens roost. Some of my swedish black hens can't even fly up there but Darlene is smart. Unfortunately the big chickens wouldn't let her roost up there. She still spends a large chunk of her day watching everything from up there.

I also have a pair of young emus. They aren't at full size yet but they are already huge. So this morning I sold some bantam cochins. I had 3 20 dollar bills in my shirt pocket. I bet you know where this is going. I was petting Whistler (one of the emus) when he stuck his beak in my pocket and grabbed my 60 dollars! I was able to grab 40 dollars back from him but he dropped the other 20 in the dirt! Luckily fence post to the rescue! I grabbed the post and pulled the 20 dollar bill through the dirt until it was close enough to the fence for me to grab.
