Just wanted to put up some pictures I took today while birdwatching with friends. This time I had a MUCH better camera and I was actually able to get decent pictures of birds! We saw some really neat ones!

Those pics look good. I like the first two the most, the lights and shadows give depth to the pics. I love bird watching too, but have hardly gone anywhere the last few years. Yesterday we had a yellow rumped warbler, a flock of cedar waxwings, and a woody it was either a flicker or a yellow bellied sap sucker.

Thanks everyone! I did find out that the smaller of the two egrets is a snowy egret.

Mohonri, If I was home, you would probably be seeing a LOT more chicken pictures! Here at college, I have no chickens to take pictures of :-( So instead I take pictures of the natural wildlife in our area.

I was also able to identify the spotted insect above as some type of moth, but the name escapes me at the moment! It is beautiful with it's wings open.

is that what kind of heron that is? theres one that hangs out at the creek at the farm, it never stays still long enough for any good pics!

It's actually a Great Blue Heron. We have tons of those around here. They're beautiful! The night heron is a much more compact bird, more like the snowy egret.
