I don't I tried to keep them in a pen but I just couldn't get one big enough to include a pond and they're so happy free ranging. They have a lot of places to hideI lock mine up at night. How do you keep them from predators if they are totally free ranged?
Your yard is fenced - so the pond is inside that? I have a large yard, but no fence. My yard is fenced on two sides with soy beans and the other corn. It switches year to year.I don't I tried to keep them in a pen but I just couldn't get one big enough to include a pond and they're so happy free ranging. They have a lot of places to hide
Yes I have a massive yard (1/2 acre+) and they have a pond which I clean out and refilled every few days. They stick near that unless they're munching my tomato plants. They were a stinky pain when I had them in a pen but I'm enjoying them much more now they're free range and they're having fun eating all the bugs in my lawn (and duck food yoo). Waiting not so patiently for my eggs although not really sure how I'll find the egg when they do, do they always lay first thing in the morning?? They're indignant things and they're favorite treat is raspberries! They won't eat them on the bush though they wait for me to pick them!Your yard is fenced - so the pond is inside that? My grandma lived in a forest and they had ducks when she was liyylr. They used to take them to the nearest stream for a field trip! Apparently rounding them up to go home was interesting!Picky ducks!
I have an acre and a half. My hubby says no to a fence around the whole area. Lol. But, when I let them out, they stick around the run area and don't wander too far from it. My in-laws have a huge pond and they are a quarter of a mile down the road. Time for a duck field trip?![]()
