Bird Raffle - 2015 Bronze Peafowl Pair Raffle

I see the UPA convention is in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Wish I could make it, but hope those of you going will report back with pics and news. I just returned from Winter Park, Florida(6 hrs away from Fort Walton) and what a very cool town that is! The city mascot and logo is the PEACOCK! They have a peacock preserve and a long history of peacocks on Genius drive (now Windsong Developement) They even have an annual Peacock Ball! Has the UPA convention already been held there or is that a possible future convention location???

So how does this raffle work? I paid the 50 dollars but no tickets or any way of showing anything specific to prove the winner. Am I missing something?

I would like to know the when, where and how's also...would be nice if the drawing was videotaped or something .
Also again, HOW MANY tickets have been sold so far? Inquiring minds want to know.

This is a great fundraiser idea for the association, the eggs would be good too !

I believe it's computer randomizer. I believe that your info is put on the ticket when you buy it and then you would be emailed if you won or not. I don't know if these are true but it's what would make sense in my head.

according to the UPA website nobody has yet .

"Due to the issues with the website up time at the beginning of the month and the late release of the magazine, the raffle has been extended to April the 15th."
Yes the deadline was extended.

Yes it is computer done. I believe they do email you and you will also be in the UPA magazine.

We will definitely have pics, and hopefully this year I will remember to take more video.
I will have to check out Winter Park Florida. I live in Florida but I never knew there was a city in Florida whose mascot is the peacock! Maybe I need to move there haha! Oh my gosh I want to go to a Peacock Ball! Since I am so surprised to hear about this place I am doubtful that the UPA knows about this place! That would be such a fun convention area! We already have this year's convention planned out, but I can suggest that for a future convention spot.

I doubt we will be returning to Florida for a while seeing as this will be the second time in a row it has been held in Florida. Usually the UPA tries to make the conventions in different parts of the US so that everyone has a chance to go to a convention. The convention is here in Florida again because the price of the condo, the amenities, etc were such a great deal that we wanted to do it again! That and I think some of the peafowl breeders from colder states really enjoyed coming down to Florida to feel some warm weather and see our sugar white sandy beaches!

This convention, while being in the same place as last year, will have different events from last year.

Hey everyone. I am not sure when or how they announced the winner as I was busy with school when they must have done it, but the winner of the raffle for the Bronze peafowl pair is:

Joshua Sweat

The birds are supposedly shipping out today and are headed to him.

Congratulations Joshua and thank you to everyone who participated! I am sorry that it was unclear who won, next time we will make sure that it is made clear on multiple platforms who has won the bird raffle.

Keep an eye out for more raffles. We plan on doing more and we might do a raffle for eggs!

Thanks,
Alea
