Bird randomly and instantly went blind

One of our newest pullets started freaking out when we walked in. Wouldn’t fly, acting irrationally. Immediately ran in my wife’s general direction when she started talking. When my wife picked her up she calmed down and just layer on her chest. Then she wouldn’t get off. I started to examine her and noticed that her eyeballs looked like they were shifted straight back. Not sunk in, but literally sitting too far back in the eye sockets. I started making irrational movements with my hands around her head… absolutely zero reaction. Even put my fingers right next to her eyeballs. Didn’t blink and didn’t move. What could be causing this?
