Bird Seed Vs. Scratch Feed

I know i have seen this on here before but i cant remember when. Will wild bird seed raise the temp in chickens like scratch. I have tried giiving it to my hens as a treat and the go wild. It is not something i plan to do all the time.

It would raise the heat just the same if not more since many of the small seeds contain a lot of fat. I always have scratch on hand and occasionally offer a scoop of birdseed when I have it, especially in the winter.
