Today I found one of my birds with bleeding eyes. One of the eyes is red and the other has gel-like discharge that, when wiped with a tissue, is yellow.

Not sure what to do. I'm really worried... any suggestions?

Does it look like the eyes were pecked or does it look like the eyes were irritated and the blood is from the bird trying to scratch the eye?

You can use neosporin ointment in and around the eyes if it is the formula without the pain relief ingredient. Opthamalic antibacterial ointments are available in pharmacies and have the same ingredients, but are probably ultra purified, if you are more comfortable with that.

Are there any symptoms of a respiratory infection that could have caused eye irritation?

It is much more likely that he was attacked, seeing as that we have numerous rooster and three guineas, most of whom often chase him.
There are scratches in his beak and some of his feathers are lying on the ground. Thanks for your suggestions... we'll do what we can.
