as I'm typing, there's a pileated woodpecker at my suet feeder. As its eating, the other smaller woodpeckers are pestering him to leave. As one or two does this, another one sneaks in for a mouthful! The pileated is about 4xs the size as the other ones! He just left! All the other birds are coming back now.

We have a colony of cardinals in a huge shrubbery out back. We have a two tiered bird bath that attracts lots of birds. Yesterday we put out two feeders. We've counted 20 cardinals at the same time eating, bathing, and foraging. We also have been getting blue jays, mocking birds, yellow warblers, and woodpeckers. We've been spending alot of time in front of the patio window or out on the patio watching and taking pictures. I love it.
