I have some babies in a pen. Chicks (two are pretty big now), ducklings (or there WAS a duckling), and goslings. I spent close to $70.00 on the goslings and getting them here, so they will be separated later. For the last four days, without fail, soneone comes up dead by morning. The first three days, it was three of my first little chicks that I hatched. Today, it was my first little duckling that I ever hatched. At first, I just said to myself "bad luck ;-(" but I am now starting to see a pattern, and I want to stop it. I was very upset over my duckling, because he was my first ever duck and also I need more ducks. I fear there may be so e sort of disease going around, and I really hope my geese don't already have it. There is no blood or anything, and I think that duckling had gotten a bit big for those roosters to take on!!!!!

What kind of pen? Is it inside/outside? Are you using a heat lamp? How big is it?
It is suspended above ground with a wire bottom so the nasty stuff can fall through/outside/yes when the outside temperature drops below 70F, I do/I think it is big enough for all that's in it; 3X2X5.
