birdseed ???

My husband thinks that I am crazy to ask this but... is wild bird seed ok to give to my chickens as a treat? and at what age should the chickens start getting the spurs?

i hope it's OK as mine clean up under all the bird feeders! it's mainly grain and seeds, which is part of their free ranging diet too.

no idea about spurs.
